Aluminum sulfate (chemical formula: Al2(SO4)3) is a widely used industrial reagent that is often confused with alum. Aluminum sulfate is commonly used as a flocculant in purified drinking water and wastewater treatment equipment, as well as in the paper industry. Naturally, aluminum sulfate almost never exists as anhydrous salts. It forms a series of hydrates, of which aluminium sulphate hexahydrate is the most common. Aluminum sulfate is also an effective mollusk insecticide, killing Spanish slugs.

Application 

1. paper industry used as paper sizing agent, in order to enhance the water resistance and seepage resistance of paper;

2. soluble in water can make the water fine particles and natural colloids condensed into large flocculent, so as to remove from the water, so used as water supply and wastewater coagulant;

3. used as turbid water purification agent, also used as precipitating agent, fixing agent, filler, etc. It is used as raw material (astringent) for sweat suppressing cosmetics in cosmetics.

 

 

4. In the fire fighting industry, foam extinguishing agent is formed with baking soda and foaming agent;

5. analytical reagents, mordant, tanning agent, oil decolorizing agent, wood preservatives;

6. Stabilizer for albumin pasteurization (including liquid or frozen whole eggs, white or yolk);

7. can be used as raw materials, used in the manufacture of artificial gems and senior ammonium alum, other aluminate;

8. fuel industry, in the production of chromium yellow and lake dye as precipitating agent, but also plays the role of color fixing and filling agent.

9. used as an effective crosslinking agent for animal glue, and can improve the viscosity of animal glue. Also used as the curing agent of urea formaldehyde adhesive, 20% aqueous solution curing faster.
